As a lifelong advocate for movement and healthy living, Kendra Sweeney, BA Kin., C. Ped (C), is passionate about helping people stay active, comfortable, and confident on their feet. As a Canadian Certified Pedorthist and certified medical-grade compression fitter, she provides personalized care for people experiencing foot, lower limb, and mobility concerns.
After earning her Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology from the University of Lethbridge in 2019, Kendra knew she wanted to build on her understanding of human movement to help people improve their mobility and overall quality of life. She went on to complete the Pedorthic program at Western University, combining her Kinesiology education with a specialization in lower body mechanics and conservative treatment of lower limb conditions. Her patient-first approach focuses on understanding each person's lifestyle and goals while working to relieve pain, improve mobility, and help prevent future issues.
When she's not in the clinic, you'll often find Kendra enjoying everything the Elk Valley has to offer—hiking local trails, spending time in the mountains with family and friends, and tending to her garden. She understands firsthand how important it is to maintain mobility throughout one's life and is passionate about helping people continue doing the activities they love.
Proud to serve the community she calls home, Kendra is committed to providing patient-focused care in a welcoming environment where every patient feels heard, supported, and empowered to keep moving.
Canadian Certified Pedorthists are allied healthcare practitioners specializing in the assessment, treatment, and prevention of foot and lower limb conditions. Through a comprehensive biomechanical assessment, pedorthists evaluate gait pattern, lower limb alignment, joint function and range of motion, and plantar pressure to identify mechanical factors contributing to pain, dysfunction, or reduced mobility.
Based on assessment findings, treatment may include the design and fabrication of custom foot orthotics, footwear recommendations and modifications, medical-grade compression therapy, and patient education.
Pedorthists are nationally credited professionals who meet education, clinical training, and continuing competency standards to provide evidenced-based pedorthic care.
